ImageDoctor is built so that your files stay with you. This policy explains what that means in practice, what little information is collected when you visit, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Images, PDFs, spreadsheets and other files you open in the tools are processed inside your browser. They are never uploaded to us.
- There are no accounts, and we don't ask for your name or email address.
- Presets, recent QR codes, saved projects and poster drafts are saved in your own browser, not on a server.
- We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used. It never receives the files you work on.
- We don't sell personal information and don't show advertising.
Files you use with the tools
Every tool — compression, resizing, conversion, editing, PDF conversion, QR codes, barcodes, labels and the rest — runs on your device using features built into your browser. The files you open, the results you create and the text you type (such as QR code content, Wi-Fi passwords or spreadsheet rows) are not sent to our servers, and we have no service that could receive them.
A few features contact other websites directly from your browser, and only when you use them:
- Image URL tool: your browser downloads the image from the address you enter. That website receives the request, including your IP address, as with any visit.
- Metadata viewer and remover: the optional “View on a map” link opens OpenStreetMap with the photo's GPS coordinates. Nothing is sent unless you click it.
- AI Background Remover: this is a separate website that we link to. It is not part of this site, and its own terms apply when you use it.
Information stored on your device
To remember your preferences, the site uses your browser's local storage and IndexedDB. This data stays in your browser, is never sent to us, and is used only to make the tools more convenient:
- Saved presets, display settings, your colour theme and recently used tools.
- Recently generated QR code contents (up to 30) and saved QR and barcode projects (up to 40). Logos are not saved with these.
- In the poster maker: your brand kit (colours, fonts and logo), uploaded custom fonts, and recent designs with their images.
Removing stored information
Most of this can be deleted inside the tools, for example by clearing the recent QR code list or deleting a preset or design. You can remove all of it at once by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Private or incognito windows discard it when they close.
Analytics
We use Microsoft Clarity to see which pages and features are used and where the site is confusing or broken. Clarity may collect information such as the pages you view, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, your browser and device type, screen size, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise returning visits.
Clarity does not receive the image or document files you work on — those are never uploaded. Data collected by Clarity is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement (privacy.microsoft.com). When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, Clarity does not set cookies and cannot recognise returning visits. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page, or limit analytics by blocking cookies or using your browser's tracking protection; the tools keep working either way.
Hosting and server logs
Like any website, the pages are delivered by a hosting provider whose servers see standard request information — your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose errors, and is not combined with anything else to identify you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the European Union and United Kingdom, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to or restrict its use. Because we hold no accounts and never receive your files, most of your data is already only on your device, where you control it. For analytics data, contact us or Microsoft using the details in its privacy statement.
Children
ImageDoctor is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
