Before you print

Requirements differ by country and by document type, and they change. The presets here cover the most common physical sizes, but every field stays editable — check the current rules from the issuing authority and adjust the size, background and head position to match. This tool sets dimensions and DPI; it does not verify that a photo will be accepted.

ID and badge photos

Start from a generic ID size (25×35 mm or 30×40 mm) or an employee badge (1×1 inch), use any passport or visa preset, or enter your own width and height from 10 to 300 mm.

Zoom and move the photo to frame the face, choose a background colour for any uncovered area, and export at 300 to 1200 DPI so the photo prints at its real size.

For printing, lay out as many copies as you need on A4, A5, Letter, 4×6 or 5×7 inch paper with spacing and cutting guides.

Common questions
