Social media image sizes

Pick the placements you need and one image is resized for each: Instagram posts, portraits, stories and reels; Facebook feed posts, Page and Group covers and event covers; YouTube thumbnails, channel banners and Shorts covers; LinkedIn posts and covers; X posts and headers; TikTok covers; and Pinterest pins.

Crop fills each size and trims the edges from the centre, Fit keeps the whole picture on a padding colour, and Fill stretches it. Any size can be edited if a platform changes its recommendation.

Download each image on its own or everything as one ZIP. Platforms re-compress uploads anyway, so JPG at quality 88 is the default.

Common questions

1080×1080 for square, 1080×1350 for portrait and 1080×566 for landscape. Stories and reels are 1080×1920.

YouTube recommends 3840×2160 (16:9), with a minimum width of 640 pixels; the 1280×720 preset here is well above that and keeps the file small (the limit is 2 MB when uploading from a phone). A channel banner should be 2560×1440, at least 2048×1152, with text and logos inside the central safe area — 1235×338 at the minimum size.

LinkedIn profile covers are 1584×396 and X headers are 1500×500.
