What this checks

File weight against pixel count, whether a PNG actually needs to be a PNG, dimensions larger than any display will use, and formats that can’t survive a round trip. Every figure is measured from the file — nothing is guessed by a model, and nothing is sent anywhere.

What the analysis checks

For each image you get the dimensions, aspect ratio, file size, megapixels, format, transparency and bits per pixel, all measured from the file in your browser.

Findings point to fixes: files over 1 MB (with an estimated WebP size), images wider than 2560 px, PNGs that don't use transparency, lossy files saved at an unnecessarily high quality, very high resolutions and animated GIFs that would lose their animation.

Each suggestion links to the tool that fixes it. Up to 20 images can be analysed and compared in one session.

Common questions

Drop the image in. The width and height in pixels, megapixels and aspect ratio are shown immediately.

As a rule of thumb here: under 300 KB, under 4 megapixels and no wider than 2560 px, in a modern format such as WebP.
